Inlays and Onlays are used to restore your teeth in cases where they are broken, chipped or a cavity is present. Unlike a Dental Filling the restoration is made from 100% pure porcelain and is designed and measured to fit into the gap/ cavity perfectly. The result of an Inlay or Onlay is that unnecessary pressure is not applied to the walls of your tooth (as is the case with a dental Filling). Your tooth is therefore preserved for a longer period of time. In the case of an Inlay, the damaged area of the tooth will be removed and the surrounding area prepared and cleaned for the restoration to be inset in the resulting socket. In the case of an Onlay, the damage is to the surface of your tooth and the affected area is removed to an extent where the restoration actually sits on the resulting gap rather than inside it. Both procedures are completed to our usual and consistent high standards and using the best materials available. It is vital that an Inlay or Onlay is a perfect fit to ensure the area is completely sealed in order to preserve the tooth underneath.
At Dental Centre Turkey we have our own, on-site, dental ceramic studio fully equipped with all the relevant technology enabling us to create your Inlays and Onlays in our own clinic using computer aided software and a CAD CAM machine that mills the restorations to ensure a perfect fit. Following your consultation, we take an impression of the area that requires an Inlay or Onlay and a design is then created using the CAD CAM Computer System. Our dental Technicians create a bespoke design that is accurate to the shape of the restoration required. The design is then sent to the CAD CAM machine that mills the Inlay/ Onlay. Having this dedicated studio means that we are able to fabricate Inlays and Onlays using the CEREC® and E.max© materials to an exemplary standard and without the need for an outside laboratory to complete any aspect of the procedure, saving you time and money. If you only need a few Inlays or Onlays they can be completed in a single day.
